'IMF wil hulp Griekenland stoppen'

Griechenland könnte schon im September pleitegehen. Der Internationale Währungsfonds hat nach Informationen des SPIEGEL der Brüsseler EU-Spitze signalisiert, dass er sich nicht an weiteren Hilfen für das Land beteiligen werde. Die Geduld des Internationalen Währungsfonds (IWF) mit Griechenland geht zu Ende: Hochrangige Vertreter haben der Brüsseler EU-Spitze nach Informationen des SPIEGEL mitgeteilt, dass der IWF nicht mehr bereit sei, weitere Gelder für die Griechenlandhilfe zur Verfügung zu stellen.
Terugkeer naar Drachme
Eerder deze week berichtte NRC Handelsblad dat ook het geduld van de Europese landen met Griekenland aan het opraken is en dat “zeven tot acht” landen bereid zijn de leningen stop te zetten. De leider van de radicaal-linkse Syriza partij verwacht een "snelle default" en terugkeer van Griekenland naar de Drachme, aldus Athens News.
The leader of the main opposition Radical Left Coalition (Syriza) party, Alexis Tsipras, was quoted as predicting the country's default, while also forecasting that the government will "soon present" a return to a national currency (drachma) as a national success. Tsipras said any re-negotiation of a memorandum signed by Greece with its EC-ECB-IMF creditors ended on the night of the June 17 election, while charging that any payment extension is "essentially a longer rope with which to hang ourselves."
